CLOC Europe Summit Explores How Multidisciplinary Legal Teams Are Driving Real-World Impact Across the Enterprise

Legal operations leaders across Europe gather to turn innovation into measurable impact.

London, 6 February 2026 – CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium), the leading member-based association for the global legal operations community, convened legal operations leaders from the UK and across Europe on Thursday, 5 February for the CLOC Europe Summit, a one-day event developed in partnership with RSGI. Designed for active participation and real-world problem-solving, the Summit brought together in-house teams, law firms, and technology and services providers to tackle the issues that matter most to legal operations in Europe, including how value is demonstrated, how collaboration works across the enterprise, and how multidisciplinary teams deliver tangible outcomes.

Opening the programme, Áine Lyons, CLOC Board Member, Immediate Past President and European Lead, set the frame for the day by addressing the pressures reshaping how legal work is delivered and governed.

“We are living through a moment where the profession’s entire orbit is shifting,” said Lyons. “AI brings real opportunity, but it also tests our foundations. Value now has to be demonstrated. Trust has to be earned to drive adoption. And judgment has to stay firmly human. The work ahead has to be designed, deliberately.”

Lyons emphasised that legal teams across Europe are moving from execution to orchestration, with multidisciplinary capability, clearer operating models, and shared accountability becoming essential to how legal supports the business.

Building on that framing, futurist Christina von Messling delivered a keynote that pushed attendees to rethink how they adapt, invest, and build in a rapidly changing landscape. She underscored that artificial intelligence, extended reality, and synthetic biology are already influencing how organisations operate today, including legal. She challenged leaders to align innovation with real business value.

Throughout the day, attendees examined the strategic landscape for legal operations in Europe, with discussions highlighting how multidisciplinary skill sets are reshaping the profession. Sessions emphasised collaboration across the enterprise, broader participation beyond traditional legal roles, and more inclusive, connected ways of working.

“The conversations happening here reflect how legal operations in Europe is evolving,” said Oyango Snell, President and CEO of CLOC. “Teams are focused on outcomes, accountability, and building operating models that hold up under real pressure. This Summit is about turning insight into action.”

Following the event, CLOC will publish the 2026 CLOC Europe Summit Insights Report, capturing key themes, trends, and takeaways from sessions and speakers to extend the value of the discussion beyond the room.

During the Summit, CLOC also shared an advance look at select findings from its 2026 State of the Industry Report, based on the 2025 Harbor Law Department Survey, conducted in collaboration with CLOC. The full report will be released on 2 March, with a webinar for CLOC members planned for 5 March.

Earlier this week, CLOC announced its first-ever Board Chair: Laura Dieudonné will work closely with CLOC’s board and executive leadership to guide strategy, advance global initiatives, and strengthen the organisation’s long-term governance.

CLOC will host its 2026 CLOC Global Institute in Chicago from 11–14 May, with additional events planned in APAC and Latin America later this year.
