CLOC Returns to the Asia-Pacific Region with the 2024 APAC Summit in Sydney: Reconnecting the Regional Ecosystem

Sydney, Australia – 21 February, 2024:

The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (“CLOC”) is excited to announce the return of the CLOC APAC Summit to the Asia-Pacific region, set to take place in Sydney on August 20-21. This marks a significant moment as CLOC revisits the region for the first time since 2019, aiming to strengthen connections and share forward-thinking practices after years of smaller in-person meetings and virtual interactions.

CLOC Summits are designed to provide in-person education and networking opportunities, fostering the growth of the legal operations function within the global community, with a particular focus on serving international markets, including the Asia-Pacific region. The legal ops community in this region has seen remarkable growth, with CLOC’s membership nearly doubling since the previous summit. A significant indicator of this expansion is the successful launch of the Japan Regional Group in 2022.

CLOC Regional Co-Chair Katrina Gowans shared, “We’re looking forward to bringing the CLOC APAC Summit back to Sydney this August and to reconnecting with our community in a meaningful way. This is a chance for us to come together, share our experiences, and collaboratively chart the course for the future of legal operations across the region.” Regional Co-Chairs Anna Golovsky and Matt Duncan agree.

The summit, hosted at the Hilton Sydney, will offer a fully community-curated program, ensuring that the content is relevant, timely, and reflective of the current challenges and opportunities faced by legal operations professionals in the region. This year’s theme, ‘Reconnecting the Regional Ecosystem,’ underscores CLOC’s goal of enhancing the network of legal operations professionals. The dynamic one-and-a-half-day program will feature a variety of session formats, including general sessions, break outs and skill builders. Attendees can look forward to engaging discussions on topics including strategic planning, financial management, project management, and the impact of legal technology.

CLOC’s President, Jenn McCarron, who will be present in Sydney, offers a more personal take: “This year, our focus is on the people at the heart of the Asia-Pacific legal ops community. We’re coming together to explore how technology can enhance our work, while prioritizing the human connections that are the true driving force behind everything we do.  Let’s make the APAC Summit our playground for swapping stories, tackling challenges, and, yes, geeking out over the latest in legal tech.”
