Uniting for a Dynamic Legal Future: Highlights from the 2024 CLOC EMEA Summit
London, England, 23 October 2024 — The 2024 CLOC EMEA Summit brought together 275 participants from 21 countries under the theme RECHARGE: Uniting for a Dynamic Legal Future, highlighting the importance of the legal operations role in driving industry transformation through technology and innovation.
Ahead of the summit, two pre-event workshops were held: CLOC’s Legal Ops 101 for early-career professionals and an advanced prompt engineering workshop, setting the stage for deeper learning and engagement. Attendees then participated in 16 packed sessions, including keynotes, panels, hands-on breakouts, and solution-driven labs covering topics like Strategic Growth, Data Analytics, and Legal Design. From AI integration to data management strategies, each session focused on unlocking value and optimizing operations. The new Legal Hacks format offered rapid-fire insights and actionable solutions, providing a dynamic and fresh approach to tackling familiar challenges.
CLOC Board Member and Europe Lead, Áine Lyons highlighted the importance of collaboration during a transformative time. “We are living through a tectonic shift in technology, presenting both enormous disruption and opportunity,” Lyons said. “As a CLOC community, this is our moment to bridge the skills gap and set the standard for how legal teams thrive in the digital age.“

Jenn McCarron, CLOC President, built on Áine’s remarks: “AI is transforming legal operations, giving us the chance to move beyond traditional roles and redefine how we deliver value. Now is the time to be bold and lead the way forward.” She inspired the audience to take these steps together, with confidence, reminding them that “We are a community at heart.”
Keynote speakers left a lasting impression. Nancy Rademaker highlighted the need to balance advanced technologies with a human touch, focusing on how AI can drive transformation while maintaining adaptability and employee engagement. Helena Boschi discussed why our brain resists change and shared strategies to recharge and manage adversity, tying her insights to the importance of resilience in driving organizational growth.
The 2024 CLOC EMEA Summit equipped attendees with actionable insights and strategies for industry transformation. As the legal landscape continues to evolve, CLOC remains at the forefront, fostering dialogue on how to leverage technology while maintaining a critical human touch.
