A Message from the Chair: Honoring Our Roots, Building for the Future
To my fellow CLOC community members,
It is with immense gratitude and excitement that I step into my new role as Chair of the CLOC Board. As I shared with the team recently, my mind has been going a million miles a minute thinking about the impact we can make together during this term.
My journey in the legal world began over 30 years ago as an admin at a downtown New York law firm, and later as legal staff manager at Orrick, to my current role at Delta Air Lines, legal has always been at the core of what I love. I’ve seen our industry transform from the “Wall Street era” to the tech-driven landscape we navigate today.
As we enter CLOC’s second decade, I am reminded that while we have achieved so much, in many ways, we are just getting started. My primary goal is to ensure we remain the leading community for legal operations by meeting you, our members, exactly where you are.
My Priorities for Our Community
During my term, I want to focus on three key pillars to ensure CLOC is “Built to Last”:
Protecting and Scaling Our Culture: As we grow as a global organization, we must not lose our DNA of community and connectivity. CLOC is about people helping people, and I am committed to maintaining that heart.
Deepening Inclusion and Social Impact: We are evolving our strategy to ensure that equity and diversity are not just initiatives, but systemic parts of everything we do. Through the work of the Inclusion & Social Impact council and programs like CLOC Cares, we will continue to give back and support the communities we serve.
Elevating the Next Generation: We have a responsibility to reach out to law schools and young professionals who may not yet know about the incredible, well-paying career paths within legal operations. I want to empower our board and our veteran members to mentor and sponsor the leaders of tomorrow.
Navigating the Future Together
We all know the challenges ahead, from mastering AI to substantiating the ROI of our technology investments. But I believe that if we lead with kindness, empathy, and data, there is no bottleneck we cannot overcome.
I am here to work for you. I want to be a resource for this entire ecosystem, whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting your journey.
I am so proud to work alongside our President and CEO, Oyango Snell, CLOC’s tremendous internal staff, and the largest, most diverse board we have ever had. Together, we will continue to enhance and elevate this community so that everyone has the tools they need to excel.
Thank you for your trust. Let’s make this year one of meaningful transformation and lasting legacy.
Warmly,
Laura Dieudonné
Chair, CLOC Board
