Angela McFadden

Temple University Beasley School of Law

Angela McFadden is a J.D. candidate at Temple University who, as a non-traditional law student, brings with her over 25 years of professional experience in environmental regulation and enforcement. She began her career at the EPA as an inspector after graduating from the University of Washington in 1995 with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. Her managerial and non-managerial leadership positions have involved not only ensuring delivery of EPA work products but also developing and streamlining business processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government work. Angela sees opportunities for using open source code to develop applications for reducing administrative burdens on courts and improving their interactions with the public.

Heather Mitchell

Heather Mitchell is a contracts analyst for Vail Resorts, specializing in project management, contract management systems, and analytics tools. Heather graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a BA in English and is now pursuing a Master of Legal Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. When not endeavoring to organize everything around her, Heather enjoys reading, watching movies, and exploring the many beautiful areas surrounding her Colorado home with her husband and their dog.

Rachel Garcia is a 2L at Northeastern University School of Law. She is also a member of the Northeastern Law Review. Prior to law school Rachel graduated from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Switzerland with a specialization in sustainability and innovation. Her goal is to work in a legal operations position after she graduates in 2021 so that she can bring her past experience and her current legal knowledge together into one career.

Robin Goldberg

Robin Goldberg is an eDiscovery Analyst at Apple where she manages discovery for all active litigation matters. Prior to joining Apple, Robin worked as an IP litigation paralegal for 11 years for big law firms in Palo Alto. She’s a current MBA student at the University of California, Davis, where she seeks to merge her background in legal technology with her business studies. Robin graduated from San Diego State University with degrees in Political Science and Spanish. She currently serves as Silicon Valley’s Women in eDiscovery Chapter Director.

Alexis Henley

Alexis Henley is a current EMBA Student at Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She currently works with a top-tier M&A team at AssuredPartners, Inc. as a Senior Corporate Paralegal and has managed the closings of over 150 transactions with an aggregate purchase price of $1B in just over six years. She is excited about joining the CLOC community and bringing her work experience and education together to forge a new path in Legal Operations.

QD is in the second year of a JD/MBA program and hails from Georgia. After a military career in combat arms, QD began work in the non-profit sector by helping Servicemembers diagnosed with post-traumatic stress find medical treatment. Concurrent to a career in corporate law, QD aspires to found a company that provides instruction in financial literacy for young adults.

Phenix Kline

Phenix Kline has a passion for process improvement, whether it be automating a legal request-for-proposals, or finding a faster way to fold her laundry. She recently completed an internship with Shell Oil Company’s Central Legal Operations team and plans on continuing working in legal operations post-graduation. Prior to law school, Phenix studied business management and worked in the tech industry as an organizational development consultant. She is a firm believer in data-driven decision-making and Kotter’s 8-step change management model.

Cheron Mims

Cheron Z. Mims is a 1L law student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law pursuing a Juris Doctor degree with a Business Enterprise Concentration. She works as a Research Assistant supporting the Law and Technology Initiative (LTI) at her institution. Having worked as a Litigation Support Technician prior to law school, she is passionate about human-centered innovation surrounding the role of attorneys and the development of objective metrics for attorney work products. Cheron is also a member of the Bartlit Center National Trial Team.

Katy Murson

Katy is a Senior Project Specialist on the Global Legal Operations team at a global pharmaceutical company. Before beginning her career in legal operations Katy worked as a Paralegal at a law firm that specialized in Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability. She has received her bachelor’s degree in jurisprudence with a concentration in legal studies and is currently enrolled in the M.S. Law and Public Policy program at the California University of Pennsylvania.

Yuanyuan Zhang

University of Oklahoma College of Law

Yuanyuan Zhang, a 1L law school student in the University of Oklahoma Law School. Before she was admitted to law school in the U.S., she already practiced law in China as an associate in Dentons law firm and as an in-house manager in Beijing Jiuyo Capital Management Company, after I graduated from Renmin University of China Law School with the LLB degree and Beijing Normal University with the LLM degree, focused on Criminal Justice. It is a challenge to study American Law with her second language, but she enjoys meeting people with different backgrounds and learning different languages.

Allegra Simon is an incoming 1L at Harvard Law School, interested in the intersection of technology and the law. She is currently Chief of Staff at Cowboy Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm. Prior to joining Cowboy, Allegra was a management consultant at McKinsey, and a Program Associate at Pivotal Ventures. She graduated from Williams College with degrees in History and Economics.

She possesses five years of corporate experience as a management consultant at Accenture. Cherlyn Bryans

Cherlyn Bryans is a seasoned legal professional with over a decade of experience, beginning her career in 2009 as a Legal Assistant and progressing to implement and manage contract databases for in house legal departments in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Through this work she discovered CLOC in 2017 and has been an avid member ever since. She has a passion for process improvement, workflow transparency, and utilizing data for informed decision-making. Currently completing her final year at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, Cherlyn concurrently serves as the Legal Affairs Manager, Corporate and Commercial, at KEEN, a prominent footwear company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Her ultimate goal is to assume the role of General Counsel at a leading consumer brand, leveraging her expertise in legal operations. In addition to her professional life, Cherlyn delights in the peacefulness of her garden, the escape of a captivating book, and the thrill of exploring diverse cultures through travel.

Kieran Minor

Kieran Minor is an incoming 1L at the University of Chicago. He has a BA in environmental studies and economics from Oberlin College. He comes to law school with over ten years of experience in education. A Chicago resident since 2020, he currently is part of the education team at Shedd Aquarium, where he helms K-8 field trips in local parks and the teen work-study program. He is interested in natural resource management and the role of local governance in interjurisdictional areas, and hopes to pursue a career in policy. In his free time, he teaches piano and guitar, plays in math-jazz band CDPROM, and enjoys hanging out on Chicago’s boulevards with his dog, Wiggles.

Ethan Katz

Ethan Katz is an incoming 1L at the NYU School of Law interested in leveraging large-scale data analytics in the legal field. Ethan is a graduate of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, where he obtained certificates in Statistics and Machine Learning and the History and Practice of Diplomacy. Since August 2021, he has worked as a paralegal and financial analyst at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, focusing on forensic accounting and data analysis in white-collar and environmental crimes. As a First Lieutenant in the New Jersey Army National Guard, Ethan also provides logistical support to an engineering battalion. In his free time, he enjoys running along the East River and reading at Tompkins Square Park.

Sierra Arguilez

Sierra is a veteran of the United States Army where she served as a Military Intelligence Officer domestically and abroad. Sierra completed her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She will be pursuing her JD at the University of San Diego School of Law, and is looking forward to bringing a unique perspective to her studies and her future profession.

Portia Mazone

Portia Mazone is a notable alumna of Florida A&M University, where she obtained her B.S. in Journalism and her Masters in Applied Social Science. Accompanied by certifications in Music Recording from FAMU and Music Essentials from NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, she boasts a diverse skill set. Additionally, Portia deepened her knowledge with a Juris Masters in Intellectual Property Law from Emory University School of Law and is presently pursuing her Juris Doctorate at Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Tessa L. Cierny

Tessa Cierny is the Global Records Manager at WestRock and a second-year law student at Georgia State University’s College of Law, where she is president of the Legal Analytics Student Association and is pursuing the Legal Analytics & Innovation Certificate. She has a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Georgia, as well as a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With 13 years of experience in Information Governance in both academic and corporate environments, she has spent the last 7 years driving operational innovations and business development in legal operations at Delta, Mercedes-Benz USA and WestRock, including implementation of Contract Lifecycle Management, Enterprise Content Management, Data Privacy, Data Retention, and eDiscovery and Legal Hold process improvements and solutions. 

Theresa R. DiCenzo

Campbell Law School in Raleigh, NC

Theresa DiCenzo is a current law student at Campbell Law School in Raleigh, NC.  Prior to beginning law school, she worked in marketing developing and analyzing campaigns for a global audience.  She has a passion for blending creativity with analytics to improve her approach and appreciates the ever-changing landscape involved with digital marketing. 
 
After law school, she’s aiming for a career in legal operations in order to blend her background of creativity and data analysis with her newly gained skills in law school in order to improve a company’s efficiency while operating in a global capacity. 
 
In her free time she enjoys taking her Australian Shepherd on runs, exploring the city, and practices her second language skills. 

Arina Filippenko

Mitchell Hamline School of Law

Arina Filippenko is a second-year law student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Arina is currently a financial examiner with the Alaska Division of Banking and Securities where she performs regulatory audits of financial services companies and conducts enforcement investigations. Passionate about the power of data and technology for legal operations, Arina is in Mitchell Hamline’s inaugural Data Analytics Incubator program where she focuses on using data analysis to bridge the access to justice gap in Alaska. Before law school, she received degrees in finance and management from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and worked in institutional investment as well as private wealth management. This summer, Arina will be working as a summer associate at Stoel Rives, LLP in Anchorage. 

Jordan A. Galvin

Indiana University - Bloomington

Jordan Galvin has worked in legal innovation since graduating from law school: first starting in legal education, and then moving to big law. Early on, it was apparent how critical data is to substantive and operational excellence. It was also apparent that the legal industry lacked a comprehensive understanding of data such that we could take advantage of its full power. To better drive innovation in this area, Jordan began pursuing her Master’s of Data Science at Indiana University–Bloomington. She looks forward to applying the skills she learns to the business and practice of law, and greatly appreciates CLOC’s partnership.  

Kevin J. Garcia

University of Puerto Rico in San Juan

Kevin Garcia is currently a 3L student pursuing both a JD and MBA degrees at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. He hopes to leverage both backgrounds to bring a data-driven focused mindset to the legal profession given the gap that exists between how the industry still operates and the needs of their customers in the 21st Century. Among his hobbies are a passion for reading on his spare time and learning more about other cultures. 

Anita S. Kinney

Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law

Anita began her career as a librarian before discovering that her analytical and technical skills lent themselves to solving complex business problems. Pivoting to IT, she worked as a records manager for a government agency and a consulting firm before deciding to pursue a law degree in order to better advise clients on compliance requirements.  She is excited by the potential for legal operations to enhance access to information and drive value for clients. 

Joshua J. Lustig

Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law

Joshua Lustig is a 2L at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. He is also a member of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property and is a co-president of Northwestern’s Intellectual Property Law Society. Prior to law school, Josh graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in Industrial & Operations Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. By combining his engineering background with his legal training, Josh hopes to introduce continuous process improvement and data-driven decision-making techniques to the legal industry. In his free time, Josh enjoys NPR, swing dancing, and learning new languages. 

Charles R. McCarthy

University of Richmond

Charlie McCarthy is a second-year JD/MBA candidate at the University of Richmond. Before law school, Charlie attended the University of Virginia and was commissioned as a naval officer upon graduation. He served as a Surface Warfare Officer for five years, completing two deployments in the South China Sea and Eastern Mediterranean. Charlie currently leads the Richmond Legal Business Design Hub Fellowship. The fellowship is a student-run organization that focuses on educating University of Richmond law students on entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation in the strategy, operations, and design of businesses that deliver legal services. In his spare time, Charlie enjoys surfing, cycling, and hiking with his wife and dog.  

David B. Shekman

Northwestern Pritzker School of Law

David is a first-year law student (1L) at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. He previously earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis’s Olin School of Business with a concentration in Economics & Strategy.  David’s work focuses on the intersection of law and technology, where he hopes to combine his legal education and skills in data science to modernize the practice of law and change how the future lawyer works.  He is a Research Assistant for Professor Dan Linna and the Law & Technology Initiative, and a member of the High Tech Law Society, Jewish Law Students Association, and Ukrainian American Bar Association. Prior to law school, David worked at a large asset manager in Chicago. This summer, he will be a legal intern at Cisco Systems, Inc.  

Ryan Sim

Ryan Sim is a second-year student at Harvard Law School. He is also a Teaching Fellow for the Board of Student Advisers, executive board member of the West Coast Club, and member of the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology. Prior to law school, Ryan graduated from Harvard College with a concentration in Government. He then worked in policymaking and research roles related to cybersecurity and campaign finance. Ryan is passionate about employing his legal/government experiences to critically think about transforming the legal profession via legal operations. 

Kelsey R. Berteaux

University of Utah

Kelsey Berteaux has been working as a legal operations specialist for the past two years. Her original professional background is in editing, IT operations, and management, which have all helped inform her career path. She is working on an MBA to expand her opportunities in the field. Kelsey is inspired by CLOC’s leadership and aspires to become a pillar of the CLOC community. She is passionate about learning, teaching, and sharing and hopes you’ll see her soon conducting a webinar, authoring a white paper, or leading a CLOC special interest group.

Mackenzie J. Arnold

Harvard Law School

Mackenzie Arnold is a third-year student at Harvard Law School. He previously attended Boston College, winning the G.F. & J.W. Bemis Award for public service and graduating with the highest honors in political science. Mackenzie’s work has focused on evaluating and redesigning traditional service models in contexts from immigration to civil legal aid, and after graduation, he plans to help local advocates in New York City develop a community crisis-response program as an alternative to policing. Mackenzie is a proud member of the Effective Altruism movement and a taker of the Giving What We Can Pledge.

Sbhat Ahmad is a graduate student enrolled at George Washington University, pursuing his Master’s Degree in Finance. Sbhat’s goal is to become a financial advisor to help others manage their financial health. Obtaining this degree allowed him to learn how to take care of his own finances and teach others how to do the same. I’m very grateful for the CLOC scholarship in helping me pursue my dreams.

Barbara Tsao

Barbara Tsao is a first-year law student at Harvard Law School. She is also a member of the Harvard Environmental Law Review, co-president of her class section committee, and on the board of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association at Harvard Law. Prior to law school, Barbara worked in undergraduate neuroscience research and proudly served as a high school science teacher in New Mexico and Texas. She is passionate about utilizing her years of experience in critical research and team-based environments to translate data into powerful insights and transformation in legal operations.

Jesse I. Messmer

Jesse Messmer has spent the last 4 years as an educator. Teaching 7th grade social studies in Lawrence Massachusetts has made him very aware of the power of the justice system in creating an equitable society. Though Jesse has intended to pursue a career in law for many years, his time spent as an educator cemented that desire. He believes that his unique background will help him to find success in both teaching and law.

Andrew M Taylor

Mitchell Hamline School of Law

Andy Taylor is a student in Mitchell Hamline School of Law’s part-time evening program. From 2010-2019, Andy was a policy staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served in senior positions for two members of Congress and on the staff of the Financial Services Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee. He currently works in digital legal operations and data privacy for a Midwest-based lending company and serves on the board of directors of the Borgen Project, a non-profit organization that works to make poverty reduction a focus of U.S. foreign policy. Additionally, Andy is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Dispute Resolution Arbitrator and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).

Rachel M Sanford

Rachel Sanford will graduate in May 2022 and is currently a J.D. candidate at Georgia State University College of Law. Rachel is pursuing studies and certification in Environmental and Land Use Law and hopes to work closely with environmental groups in her legal career. After graduating with a B.S. in International Affairs from Georgia Tech in 2017, Rachel has worked as a Data Analyst, Customer Solutions Manager, and Legal Operations Paralegal before attending law school.

Roy Auh

Georgetown University

Roy Auh will receive his J.D. from Georgetown University in 2024. With a philosophy degree from Duke University and computer science degree from University of Maryland, he wants to bring a sociotechnical approach to his interest in legal practice and legal operations. He is also substantively interested in issues in data privacy and technology law.

Before law school, he has published two peer-reviewed articles on forgotten women philosophers of early modern Europe and presented in the world’s biggest philosophy conference in Beijing, China. Outside of work and school, he enjoys practicing mixed martial arts and playing music on his basses, both upright and electric.

Cameron M. Campbell

Cameron Campbell will begin his 1L year at Belmont University College of Law in 2023. He recently graduated with a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and also holds a Master of Business Administration in Leadership. Cameron is interested in combining his professional nonprofit management experience and education with a legal skillset in order to equip and assist organizations and their employees navigate operational challenges with data-driven, legally sound, and creative solutions.

Caitriona Pagni

Caitriona Pagni is entering her final year of a JD-MBA at the University of Illinois and earned a BS in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service. Caitriona hopes to use her international education and background to drive operational innovations and improve business development in the legal industry, ultimately creating better outcomes for clients. Caitriona has earned CALI awards in Legal Research, Business Associations, and Privacy Law, and serves in multiple leadership roles in both her JD and MBA program. To solidify her understanding of operations and the legal industry, Caitriona has held roles at Sidley Austin LLP, the Walgreens Boots Alliance, PEAK6 investments, and will begin an associate position at Locke Lord LLP after graduation.

Connor J. Hansen

J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University

Connor J. Hansen is passionate about the intersection of law, innovation, finance, and entrepreneurship.

He graduated from Brigham Young University – Hawaii with a degree in Business Management: Economics and Finance, with minors in history, political science, and international development alongside a certificate in legal studies.

Connor co-founded a university club dedicated to promoting economic liberty internationally and assisted in research examining population growth and development models. He took his love for economics and management to grad school at Brigham Young University where he is pursuing a JD/MBA with a focus on private equity markets and legal operations.
He currently serves on the board for BYU’s Law Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship group where they provide students with experiential learning and networking opportunities at the intersection of law and innovation, and connect students with opportunities on the cutting edge, from tech-driven access to justice efforts to web3, to venture capital and startup law.

It Connor’s career goal to assist economic growth by guiding businesses through the legal frameworks that inform their economies.

Katherine Hsu

Katherine is a second-year law student at Northwestern School of Law. She is highly interested in the intersection between law and technology. At Northwestern, she is Co-President of the High Tech Law Society, Vice President of Community Affairs for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and a student clinician at the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center. She attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degrees and graduated with a B.A. in Political Economy and B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy. She has interned at FreeWire Technologies, Delta Dental, the Federal Reserve, and before law school, she previously worked in the insurance industry. She enjoys classical piano, tennis, and traveling, and is a heritage speaker of Mandarin Chinese and Shanghainese.

Yashica Kataria

Yashica earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science, with a minor in Computer Science, from Boston University. While at college, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University Pre-Law Review and Co-President of the Women In Law club. After graduating from college, she worked as a legal assistant at two law firms, including Kirkland & Ellis. She is thrilled to be attending law school in the fall of 2023. As an international student and first-generation college student, she understands the unique challenges that come with pursuing higher education and is particularly passionate about helping other first-generation students achieve their academic and career goals.

Sydney Payton

Sydney Payton is an incoming 1L at Harvard Law School interested in pursuing a career centered around data privacy and legal technology. For the past 6 years, she worked in Information Technology at Procter & Gamble in various IT and data analytics roles. Sydney is a graduate of the University of Alabama where she studied Information Systems with a minor in Social Innovation and Leadership. At Alabama, she was a member of the school’s honors program and participated in many activities pertaining to her interests in technology, public speaking, debate, and mentoring.

Kim Nowakowski

Florida State University

Kim Nowakowski joined Health First in March of 2005 and presently manages Provider Contracting & Credentialing for Health First Health Plans. Prior to her position with Health First’s insurance company, Kim managed Legal Operations for the Health First Corporate Legal Department for 15 years, supporting its contracting functions, maintaining all corporate filings, and providing paralegal support for Health First’s various legal issues and litigation as well as serving as Interim System Director of Health First’s Enterprise Risk Management Department from 2018-2019.

Kim holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Health Sciences from Eastern Florida State College. She received her federal Registered Paralegal designation in December of 2005 from the National Federation of Paralegal Associations and has been a Florida Registered Paralegal with the Florida Bar since the program’s inception in March of 2008. Since 2011 she has served as a member of the Bar’s Health Law Section Continuing Legal Education Committee and moderates monthly webinars for the Section.

Joel Crank is a rising second-year law student at the University of Colorado Law school. He recently graduated from Colorado State University, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Finance. Joel has helped run his family real estate business and worked on a two-person team that created a small business consulting firm. He is particularly interested in the efficiency of corporate legal departments and small businesses’ accessibility to legal counsel. In his free time, Joel enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and playing hockey.

Carla Ocampo is a Legal Operations Associate at a global tech company. Carla began her legal career journey 7 years ago, after graduating with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice. When she started her role as a legal operations associate in 2022, she discovered the importance of a knowledgeable, equipped, and resourceful legal operations team, and the positive impact it can have for the organization. She is passionate about learning and supporting the growth and advancement of a legal team, and enjoys sharing her gained knowledge to those around her. Carla is currently obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration, with the ultimate goal of providing valuable resources, knowledge, and operational strategies. She is excited about continuing her career growth in legal operations, and she is thrilled about the endless opportunities awaiting.

Caitlin E. Parker

Caitlin has worked in the legal industry for ten years holding legal project management positions at two large global law firms. In her legal project management roles, she has supported partners and matter teams in scoping matters, building budgets and project plans for clients, managing the execution of matters within the agreed scope, budget, and timeline, and identifying process improvements along the way to accomplish these goals. Caitlin served as the law firm-side legal operations counterpart for clients with in-house legal operations teams. More recently, Caitlin joined McGuireWoods Consulting as part of their MWAccel team where she and her team support in-house legal teams with aspects of either setting up or building out their existing legal operations unit or initiatives.

Caitlin graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of science degree in human development and a minor in law and society. Caitlin earned her master certificate in project management from Villanova University. She is an MBA candidate at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Elena Sokoloski

Yale Law School and Harvard Kennedy School

Elena Sokoloski is a joint degree candidate at Yale Law School and Harvard Kennedy School. She is passionate about using legal technology to improve access to justice, and is working on research to understand how the practice of law and legal operations will change in response to advancements in artificial intelligence.

At Yale, she is Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal on Regulation and the Yale Journal of Law and Technology, a member of the Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic, and runs digital strategy for the Fines and Fees Freedom Fund. Before law school, she worked in management consulting.

Syed Nayef Andrabi

Santa Clara University School of Law

Nayef is a second-year law student at Santa Clara Law and currently work part-time with Oracle’s Legal Operations team as an extern. He moved to the Bay area from Toronto, Canada where he built my business acumen by working in IT sales and then as a start-up founder of a web-based service platform. Legal Operations is an exciting and growing field, and Nayef looks forward to learning more from his peers at the CLOC 2019 Vegas Institute.

Jonathan Boyarsky

Boston College Law School

Jonathan Boyarsky is a rising 2L at Boston College Law School who recently graduated from Northeastern University where he studied Industrial Engineering. He has always desired to improve the efficiency of whatever endeavor he is a part of. He seeks to merge his interest in technology, software, and engineering with his legal studies. He is fascinated in how to improve the efficiency and profitability of law firms and other legal organizations by applying lean concepts, workflow analysis, and statistical methods.

John Crawshaw Jr

University of Florida – Hough Graduate School of Business

John Crawshaw is a Senior Business Systems Analyst with PNC Financial Services. He has been supporting over 140 attorneys in PNC’s legal operations department for a little over two years. His main areas of focus include e-billing, matter management, business process improvement, new technology implementation, and analytics. Prior to entering the legal operations landscape, John held roles in strategy, customer experience, and inventory management.

Jennifer Hamdorf is a current MBA student at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, IA. She works as the Contracts & Legal Operations Manager at Ruffalo Noel Levitz, a firm that partners with colleges and nonprofit organizations to help them enroll their classes, graduate their students, and engage their donors. As a life-long learner, Jennifer enjoys working in the fast-paced Legal Operations environment because it is constantly evolving–ensuring that she will never be bored! Jennifer lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband Ryan and 2 rescue pups, Goose and Banksy.

Rachel Hileman

Duquesne University School of Law

Rachel is an experienced Global Legal Operations Lead with success in managing a team and daily legal operations projects for a highly diversified global pharmaceutical company. Prior to working in Legal Operations, Rachel worked as a Paralegal at a mid-sized firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania specializing in Business Law, Estates and Trusts, and School and Municipal Law. Rachel received her Paralegal Certification from Duquesne University and currently attends Duquesne University School of Law’s Evening Program. Rachel hopes to continue managing in-house legal department operations while driving the evolution of legal services through her continued education and involvement with CLOC.

Neil Jackson

American University Washington College of Law

Neil Jackson is a Public Policy Analyst in the Law Department at State Farm, a position he has held since April 2014. Prior to that, he worked in the Human Resources Department. At State Farm, Neil volunteers as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of State Farm Federal Credit Union and is a champion of diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the legal profession as a member of the Law Department’s D&I Committee. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, and he is currently enrolled in the evening program at American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. He is originally from north central Wisconsin.

Jacob Kovacs-Goodman

Jacob is a first-year student at Harvard Law School. He formerly taught at a high school, bartended, and worked on Google’s Online Legal Operations Team. At Google, he was responsible for issues related to government requests for user data. He studied Classics at Stanford and grew up in California.

Christopher Lange

American University Washington College of Law

Christopher Lange is a rising 3L at American University Washington College of Law. Christopher is originally from Texas and California and attended the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in media studies. Christopher is a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Bioenvironmental Engineer. Post his military service, Christopher continued a career of public service and worked for members of Congress and the United States Department of State. Christopher is pursuing a law degree to impact marginalized communities who otherwise might not have a seat at the table. Christopher is honored to continue the work and mission of the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium in his future legal career.
