Scholarship Program
Applications for the 2023 CLOC’s annual scholarship program are now closed (January 31, 2023).
Winners will be announced in early May 2023.
2023 will mark the eighth year CLOC has awarded academic scholarships since its inception in 2016. Recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership abilities, academic and personal goals, and an essay summarizing educational goals and future career plans.

Application Process
Your application must include:
- Your University Financial Aid Office contact information (email and phone number)
- Your personal financial need information
- The following attachments:
- An essay about yourself and your interest in a career in Legal Operations
- An up-to-date resume
- A copy of your undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) transcript
Scholarship Deadlines
The 2023 scholarship application is accepting submissions through January 31, 2023. CLOC values the contributions of students across the world and offers opportunities to participate with CLOC through a reduced student membership rate and networking through regional groups. This application is now closed. Please check back in November for the open of our 2024 application.
If you are enrolled in a graduate degree (J.D., MBA, and other) program and have a business/metrics-driven focus as it relates to the practice of law or have demonstrated an interest in Legal Operations, please apply. CLOC awards up to 10 scholarships per calendar year. You must be a current student in the same applying academic calendar year. All scholarship winners will receive an academic award of $6,000 plus a one year paid membership to CLOC. Each will be paired with a CLOC legal operations professional leader closest to their current school for career guidance, networking and mentorship.
Guidelines
The scholarship grant may only be used for educational expenses such as tuition, course materials, books, etc. An applicant can only receive the scholarship one time. An applicant may reapply for the scholarship if they have not previously been awarded the scholarship.
Eligibility
Be a current or entering student at an accredited graduate university in the United States with interest in legal operations or business metrics driven focus in the field of law. As a U.S. based non-profit and because scholarships are awarded directly to the institution. CLOC is only able to provide scholarships to students attending school in the U.S. at this time.
Judging Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded to the most promising applicants whose academics and essays best show a genuine interest in a Legal Operations career and the evolution of legal service delivery models. The Committee will also consider prior work experience in Legal Operations or related fields.
