3-4 Sept 2018 | The Westin Hotel, Sydney AU
The 2018 CLOC Sydney Institute at the Westin Hotel was truly a remarkable inaugural event. It was a full house in the session room as almost two hundred legal operation professionals, law firms, GC’s and legal services providers came together to connect, collaborate and learn. The curated content disseminated over the 1.5-day event provided the guidance and tutelage needed to develop a Legal Operations role from the ground up and the knowledge to implement processes and technology to enable legal operations functions and departments to run more effectively and efficiently.
CLOC CEO Connie Brenton, along with Mary O’Carroll and Christine Coats from CLOC’s Leadership team, kicked off the Institute with a discussion and tips and tricks in developing a strong legal operations department that will optimize performance. Over the course of the Institute CLOC provided nine sessions and focused on a range of topics including: CLOC’s 12 Core Competencies, how to run corporate in-house legal departments like a business, cutting edge technology to streamline legal operations, roadmaps to success and critical areas to create and develop the Legal Ops function.
The Legal ops role faces new challenges each day as companies continue to ask for more sophisticated programs that will drive operational efficiency. The CLOC Sydney Institute brought an unrivaled opportunity to collaborate with a number of seasoned and experienced industry executives. Attendees walked away with actionable insight and an action plan to drive legal operational excellence.
